Arthur/Merlin

Magical reveal- Arthur can ignore a lot of the strange things about Merlin, but when he sees Merlin with his shirt off one day he CAN'T ignore merlin's scars.

Because, come on, surely Merlin must have some pretty serious ones- from Nimueh's fireball up to when he was poisoned by the Serqet...and why would a servant, Merlin, possibly have such scars.

And, okay, maybe Arthur's scenario had been a little too heartclenching for poor Merlin, the same person who liked unicorns and cried for people he barely knew. Maybe he'd override his human fears to save someone... so a different situation perhaps

Arthur counted five seconds before he decided that it really was enough and he stood, his chair screeching against flagstones, finally silencing Merlin's laughter. They stared at each other for a moment before Merlin bundled up linen in his arms, obviously biting back another round of chuckling

They were always so careful, so cautious as to tread around the secrets that Morgana had ripped open and it was grating for Arthur
