The pre-reviews had been positive, but Arthur was always cautious. It wasn't until he heard the news that All Voyagers premiered to over five million viewers, and that a second season had been commissioned, that he felt truly ecstatic.

When he shut the door behind him, he exhaled happily. After dropping off his bag in the kitchen, he made a bee-line for Merlin's office. The door was shut, so he rapped his knuckles on it. “Merlin, I'm home. I've got some great news.”

There was a pause. “Can it wait? I'm in the zone right now.”

Arthur frowned. “Sure.”

That night, they didn't eat dinner together. Merlin told him that he had reached a pivotal point in his book, and that he just couldn't stop. Though he smiled when Arthur told him the news, and gave him a big kiss. “I'm so proud of you,” he declared going in for a second kiss. “I hope you know what you've gotten yourself in for. There was a hollowness that befell their relationship in the following weeks. Their intimate moment in the jacuzzi-tub had been their last moment of true closeness. Afterward, Arthur had slept next to Merlin feeling warm and satisfied. He had said, “Good night,” and, “I love you,” but they were becoming empty words that marked the beginning of mere cohabitation between the two. Arthur was almost done finishing the first season of All Voyagers, which meant that his days grew longer as the climax drew nearer. Merlin had thrown himself back into his manuscript at the advice of his editor. It was the first in a fantasy series set far, far in the future and while Merlin was proud of his work, he wasn't quite sure that it was a necessary addition to the literary canon

Their eyes were all trained on Lancelot, head writer and creator for All Voyagers. He had a steady gaze, and an even temperament - especially considering the situation. He stood next to a table with a large cake, and a flute of campaign between his fingers.

"I'd like to thank everyone who came together and gave their all to help me develop this little seed of an idea that was planted in my head. To the incredible crew who worked diligently and consistently to provide the best technical direction this show could have possibly hoped for... To my amazing cast: Arthur, I don't know how we ever got you. Sophia, you're a dream. Gwaine, I don't know how you weren't discovered earlier, you are an incredible talent. Percival, you're fired." He grinned, and everyone laughed. "No, but seriously, Percival - you're so selfless, and good. I'm ecstatic that you've been able to join us, even if it was just for the first part of our journey. Who knows, maybe you'll be back later?” He winked, and Percival smiled knowingly. “But god,

Oh god, it is so heartbreaking to watch them fall apart, and to know what's coming and not be able to stop it!! Looking forward to what happens once the deed is done.
