I love this so, so much, author mousie. Love Arthur's thoughts and the way he's drawn to Merlin. Love Merlin's quiet happiness at the attention. Really love how you're framing this, too, with intimate details of their present day relationship paired with their history.

When an article on quantum mechanics comes in that is quite clearly a copy of a copy of an original that has probably been around since the dawn of time, Arthur doesn't need two guesses to know who it's for. He suspects Merlin needs it sooner rather than later, and it only takes three clicks to access Merlin's schedule and see that their paths might easily cross if Arthur were to pass by Physical Sciences on his way home ( ... )

I flailed like a flaily thing when I saw the updates for this come in, anon. You have no idea how much I'm enjoying this. I love your characterisations of them; both of them, but I have to say, your Merlin in particular is just lovely. He's kind but self-confident, and also pretty hot. His sweet but slightly wicked smile is a thing of beauty. :D And, eee, Arthur wanting to remember Valentine's day because Merlin is a sap, and Merlin already starting to understand how Arthur's mind/mood works and dealing with it. I love how he keeps being so much more than Arthur expects him to be, and how Arthur doesn't expect to like him, but keeps finding that he does at every turn, anyway. Thanks so much for the update!

I just found this and am loving it. The part about Merlin's guide dog brought tears to my eyes, though.

Oh, thank goodness for the update! I love the quiet intensity of this piece - the slow build of it. Great narrative style by the way.
