I have taken to power walking for an hour on a treadmill at a steep incline at least five days a week. Aside from sore leg muscles, I don't have much to show for it. No, that's not true, my blood pressure has lowered a bit, it's even out of the prehypertension range every once in a while. I know my BP is pretty damned good for someone over 40, ( Read more... )

wow, at least the bra malfunction didn't happen at a public gym, lol!

I wish I had a treadmill at home. There are days that I just don't want to step outside for any reason, not even to walk a block or two the complex treadmills. Then again, I just reread and I think I only assumed you have a treadmill at home and that your workouts are at home. Are they?

Anyway, go you. You WILL feel better, more mobile, and have many other health benefits from it, so go you on your tenacity! :D

It was a public gym, but luckily everyone was too concerned with their own workouts, and besides, my treadmill was facing the windows.

Oh, I've thought about buying a treadmill too, for years, especially since it looks like I'll be walking for exercise well into my golden years.

I keep hearing about people who've lost a lot of weight having this boundless energy, and their aches and pains go away, and their endorphins are soaring, and their cholesterol and blood pressure are great, and their chronic illnesses are controlled, and whatnot. Hopefully that will be me, someday.

you know, I can't remember how old you are (eep, I'm assuming you're around my age and I'm 45, but please don't be upset if you're a lot younger, eep), but here's the hard reality. I think to lose a lot of weight when you're over a certain age, you have to do more radical things. The eat less and exercise really doesn't work unless you eat a LOT less ( ... )
