Oh wow, everything in this post is fabulous (I'll get to that last paragraph in a moment ♥) but your son and you reading through the HP books is possibly the best thing in the world, ever!!! I love the image of him working out what things mentally look like and then getting to watch the films once you've finished a book and see how close he was to the actual thing. That there just brought me great amounts of joy, so thank you. And I hope it does the same for both of you

You are so welcome! Really, the pleasure was mine. I enjoyed buying that stuff, I haven't had that particular fangirly thrill in a while!
That uniform will come in very handy next year, when I'm carrying all that post-holiday weight. :)
My son has been an angel about my back ... then he discovered the new Danger Mouse series, and he's back to his old self. :D We're on Chamber of Secrets now.
Your good things are things rich in value and connections to others. Your are establishing connections and memories. Given that you are doing this in a situation where just shutting down would be understandable, kudos to you!
It's so lovely to read this post - the upside of your difficult job - yes, I'd much rather work with someone who tells it like it is, rather than someone who's a sweetheart to my face then rips me apart behind my back. And 'yay' for your comfy uniform - that sounds like the perfect choice for that sort of work!
It's great that you are sharing the Harry Potter stories with your son - what a fabulous bonding experience for you both, and I equally love the fact that he's stepping up to the plate and helping you out while you're feeling under the weather, that's something for him to tell his Dad, that'll make his Dad proud!
I am soooooo touched that you thought of us when your vendor came round, and I am honoured and delighted to be officially cited as a bad influence on you!!! I hope you managed to pick up a little treat for yourself too! Thank you so much ... whatever is winging its way to me, you can rest assured it will have a very good and appreciative home! xx
It's good to know you're looking forward to the gift, which reminds me ... could you PM me your mailing address?
My son has been great about my back, but I wonder if he'll be so generous with the hall bathroom, a.k.a. "his" bathroom, as it's the only one with a tub for me to soak in?
I worry about Mrs. G. sometimes, because there's not much I can do to improve her situation. But I can have her back, if nothing else.
First of all, thanks so much for thinking of me and my fellow mods when you saw all the vendor's goodies! I love how you were drawn to the SPN stuff but don't want so much memorabilia (which is understandable if you move bases a lot) so got it for us! It was so sweet of you and it will be lovely to receive a New Year's gift.
I'm so pleased your job is working out well - Ms G sounds a little difficult but you seem to have worked her out and I think you'll get on fine. And you have your 'uniform' sorted out, too! I hope your family gets to retire to Texas so you can keep your job.
Your son is so sweet, looking after you and your bad back as best he can. I'm thrilled that you're reading the HP books to him, as I read them to my son from age 9 and it was always a special way to end the day. We still both love all the books and the films - and he's 23 now! In face we went to the HP Studio last year and here he is enjoying a butterbeer by the bridge...
How cool! This gives me hope that maybe the books can come to mean as much to my son as they do to me. I certainly hope so, because I can tell you now, reading is hardly my son's favorite school subject. :)
I was lucky that my son always loved books and reading - he still does! - but I know the HP books encouraged a lot of kids to read, so hopefully they'll work their magic on your son!
