As Texas still recovers from Harvey, Irma is headed toward Florida. My mom lives in Florida, and because we're a "no news is good news" type of family, I kept telling myself that if there was any reason to worry, she'd have called me, and until then I should remain calm ( Read more... )

oh gosh, how stressful for your family! I do think your mom is smart to get out. I went through a major tropical storm/cat. 1 hurricane in Jacksonville and I felt like I was in over my head soon into it. I would never do that again. This is going to be a very strong and terrible hurricane. I don't think anyone who has the ability and means to get out should stay. I'm wishing your mom and family luck!!!

It's unbelievable that Irma is following so close on Harvey's heels, (and honestly, who comes up with these names?!) and hitting another area of the US. I hope your mom and the other members of your family have a safe journey, and my thoughts are with everyone affected by these hurricanes in the US and the Caribbean. *hugs*
