Okay so I have been thinking a lot lately about all of my medical conditions. Because I seriously have WAY too many for a girl my age. And it has been an on going thing my entire life. One of the things I did find out was that I had a learning disability called dysgraphia when I was about 15. My parents had gotten a letter in the mail from Children ( Read more... )

that's all really interesting. the memory loss anesthesia they stopped using in the 70s though i think, maybe earlier. it was most commonly given to women in labor so that they would feel all the pain but so they wouldn't remember it. basically they'd have to strap women down because they'd go mental in childbirth with that drug and then after the birth when it wore off they wouldn't remember anything. my grandma had it given to her in the 60s when her kids were born.

loss of oxygen definitely does cause damage to the brain though. a girl i know, her baby's umbilical cord was clamped while she was in labor, it cut off the baby's oxygen and now the baby has cerebral palsy and might never walk, kinda scary!
