I went to the Mother's Day flower sale at the fairground grandstand today. I went last year but this year it was even crazier... I showed up at 10:30 thinking to beat the crowd only to find that they open at noon... but it was a good thing to show up so early because the line was already forming to get in. Mmmm, pretty flowers. Sounds like they'll get some proper attention this year with your increased knowledge of your deck and without me being around to distract you. I still need to plant my herbs ...

I've experienced the same struggle with flowers. Every year, I am bound and determined to plant something pretty in the large flower box in the front of our house. Every year, whatever green, growing thing I put there shrivels up and dies. THIS YEAR, though, THIS YEAR is going to be my triumphant year of pretty flowers growing in that damn box.
