[Was it all that smart to approach him? Probably not, but Lancer wasn't best known for taking the smart option in any given situation.]

...You do understand that we're probably not getting paid if everything gets stolen, right?

[Not that Lancer really cared all that much. That was probably evident by the fact that he sat down at the bar and took the nearest bottle with a smirk. The richest king ever to live probably wouldn't give a damn one way or another, anyway.]

[Nope.]

I have enough money to purchase this entire town one hundred times over and one hundred times again. I could care less about pay.

[A familiar white wolf with familiar red markings pops her head up over the bar and settles her paws on the counter. She has an idea. A great idea. Orochi was defeated by getting him drunk, right? So why not do that to the demons in charge of Mayfield?

Oh. It's this guy.]

Grrr.

[He's not going to be all obstinate and egotistical and get in the way of her plans, is he? Or worse...he's not going to ignore her, is he?]

[Mongrels. Mongrels everywhere.]

If you wish for something, take it. I will not hand anything to you on a silver platter.

[Well, she didn't have that much to do, and playing the dutiful housewife was getting old...even if she was only doing it to keep the house in a livable state.

So she thought...why not go bother the 'husband' at work?]

...why do you bother to even come if that is all you are going to do?

They are for children...it hardly seems something a king would enjoy.

Oh? So stories about heroes are for children? Does that mean your life is a mere children's book, Saber?
