"Well, y'know, there are only two kinds of cake: chocolate and yellow. Unless you count fruitcake but nobody eats that, it's so horrible. But if you go to the store to buy cake, it's all either chocolate or yellow. Who ever heard of cake made out of carrots? That's crazy."

Don't be surprised. Americans are so ignorant about food and especially food preparation and ingredients, that this sort of thing has become commonplace.

Carrot cake? Yes, I'll have some please. Especially if it has cream cheese icing. ;D

The other TM mentioned in this post reminded me of a special order the team once took before. I was not present for it, but I had heard after the fact.

Carrot cake layered with chocolate icing and fresh fruit

We have not had any further requests for this so I'm hoping that means the guests were less-than-thrilled.

And aside from this, of COURSE our carrot cake has cream cheese icing :-D

And probably those little marzipan carrots on top, which helps to occasion the confusion on the part of the unimaginative and ignorant. I mean, of course it's a "carrot" cake, I see the carrots there, but what's inside it? Yellow or chocolate?

Because, y'know, when a cake is shaped like Oscar the Grouch it isn't filled with Oscar the Grouch, right? Or if it's shaped like Bugs Bunny it isn't filled with rabbit...

Oh, and I'm sure your carrot cake is excellent. I'm also pleased that it doesn't have chocolate in it. ;p

LOL! And I mean that in the literal sense, as in, "I laughed out loud," not in the "I'm typing three letters just to say something" sense.
