Without going into the details (probably wouldn't be very respectful of me), his wife's *actions* led to the soon-to-be divorce. Also, they just weren't a very good match and never really had been from what I gather. And actually you were closer than not...he's an engineer. But obviously this doesn't matter to me, whether you believe me or not :)
