I would totally be suspicious of sketchy signatures and credentials. The people who do those things have their business policies in place and all of their information available in their sigs or on their company web site.

We had someone posing as our company on Gumtree which is like a place where you cheaply sell stuff on it and advertise for cleaners and stuff. The email address pointing to a gmail address which wasn't even iiNet in the same. Just some guys personal email address and they didn't even bother to get the logo correct or our formating or anything. It was hilarious to see.

We have a professional site called seek.com.au so we are lucky. Everyone advertises through there. Unless you have been in an industry with a higher education for years, no one really is going to want to head hunt you from a website.
