"Just come home," Sirius begs through the fire. "I'm gonna help you get better! Please!"

It earns a snort, sarcastic and disbelieving from Remus. There is no help for him. "I cannot," Remus replies, voice scratchy from all the screaming he did the night before. "Not yet," he adds, when Sirius’ face crumbles. Remus banks the fire before Sirius can say more. The moon is going to be up within half an hour and he can already feel the burning in his blood. Stripping, Remus takes a deep breath which he lets out as a scream as the change starts.
