Okay I admit to being overexcited about this. I may have accidentally mailed
jess_in_japan at 6 in the morning. We agreed to meet up at some time... in someplace I really can't remember. But we found each other and I was happy and sad for Jess cause she was sick.
I somehow barely remember this day. Oh wait... I found Jess and
otori_tsuki in the theater! Thats right. I remember cause Maureen tried to chase some pigeons off with rolled up paper and we looked over the NBN program. I was instantly mesmerized by all the gorgeous scenes and dying over the Meguri-ai costumes.
We also debated if we wanted to do anything after Jess and I got out of the show. We settled on getting dinner afterwards I think. Or we may have decided that after getting out of the show. Don't remember.
Jess picked up our tickets and we said bye to Maureen and headed off. I was all 懐かしい〜♥♥♥♥ I was incredibly happy to be back near the stairs, the piano, seeing all the wonderful sieto pictures above QR. There was also a signed white board that had to do something with earthquake that contained all of hoshi's signatures. It was incredibly touching.
Jess and I weren't sitting together, but I was one row and seat behind her it was amusing. I was in 19th row in an aisle seat. Jess and I lamented the fact they don't come out into the aisle. We would have had perfect seats. The show started and I experienced bliss.
Once again I'll talk about the show in more detail in a seperate post. But I was possibly one of the best experiences of my life. NBN was my first live revue and it was fitting that it was the first revue (Blue Moon Blue doesn't count) that I really feel in love with. My first TIP project. The original hatsubutai of my beloved. Plus the songs from childhood <3 And CHIE. AND BENI OURO <3 and omg Monako and omg REMI. Remi may have been my favorite thing of that whole thing. Arrrg *gushes.
Intermission came too fast. I was in a daze and I think I couldn't stop babbling at Jess. She also mentioned Michael might have seen us, but I was too starry eyed (hah) to really get anything XD
We went back in for Meguri-ai, which I also loved. I mean it isn't the greatest play ever, but it was nice fluff and not overly complicated. Though apparently Jess was amused that she could hear all my reactions and when I didn't laugh cause I didn't get the joke. I was embarrassed. I think the best bit was Beni and Remi honestly. I was loving those two to tiny bits.
OH AND HATSUBUTAI. I died. They were so incredibly adorable. I got introduced to the concept of Passion-sempai which had me dying. HER FACE GUYS. Everyone was incredibly adorable and gaaaah my first hatsubutai. I also immediately imprinted on this cute long faced otokoyaku. I loved the dance so much, plus the music was adorable, and the tush feather shaking X3 was incredibly adorable and hilarious. I was clapping so much my hands were red.
Afterwards, I was on a pretty big high and we met up with Maureen and
faux_semblant for dinner at Umeda Station. We had DELICIOUS pasta and dessert. We also had wonderful conversation about Nijinsky and NBN.
OH AND TOTALLY OUT OF ORDER. Now I remember, Maureen took us to that okonomiyaki place on the second floor and it was DELICIOUS. But anyways...
So pasta and dessert until really late hah. It was incredibly amazing to finally be in just a group of fangirls again. I have my friends in the US that have a mild interest in zuka and my friends online. But nothing beats just pure educated takarazuka discussion in person over good food in Japan.
Afterwards I returned back to the hostel feeling happy, full, and content. Looking forward to next day cause toujisouken NBN again and Jess<3
