Just finished The Story of Writing which I'm calling soft science. Have requested a book by the same author about the search to decipher lost languages, but have to wait. I think I'll pick a classic for the next book in this project (can't save all the tough stuff til the end.)

Today I bought a copy of How the Irish Saved Civilization which I have always meant to read. I don't know which category it will end up under, but it's going to be the first book I read, starting January 1, 2011. I recently read about a reading plan where you read 10 books in each of 10 categories between January 1 and October 10. 10 x 10 means 100 books in 10 months. I do more than that now. This is stupid but I'm upset about bowling. I bowled today in the employee shootout and got 93 on my first game while trying really hard. Then I gave up and just threw the ball vaguely down the center - and bowled a 133 and a 117.

All my life I have been right and everyone else wrong; it's better not to try.

We could not get the HHR back. The Husband and The Wife have bought another car for $500 down and $50 a week. It's a Saturn sedan 5-speed that she can't drive. They usually work the same nights anyway, and her drops her off and picks her up, so it won't change much. Car has been repo'ed. Don't know yet if we can scrape up the money to get it back. A payment or two of $100.00 would have kept them from taking it, but no. Now we have to pay $1700.00. And The Husband can't work without a car. The Wife has been managing to get rides.

I'm fine. I ride a bike.
