Okay, I'm sort of un-writer's-blocked. Lucas is talking, even if Nic's not, and I've decided that if Nic's that bloody secretive then I can spend at least a chapter on amusing Lucas shenanigans while he tries to get Nic to talk, i.e. the "better him than me" backup plan
