I'm doing a second Messengers painting (or at least another painting with a gal and some egrets), and I'm currently working out the final sketch.
I'm undecided on one aspect of the composition - which do you prefer?

I like the line thingies behind the girl instead of at her feet.

I'm thinking behind her, as it seems to give her balance. In the first one she seems on the verge of falling back. Maybe that's just me.

I like the first one, I'm not sure why...but the second one makes the upper right corner look kind of crowded. :)
