I always wonder if the pursuit of knowledge is even worth it. Sure, we gather a greater understanding of the world and reality that we live in, but is that really needed. I guess a lot of it would come down to a persons spirituality and when and how they define eternity and life

You'd like Aristotle. Or wait... maybe it was Plato? The one with anamnesis as a theory is the one you would like, maybe.
What's anamnesis? It's basically the idea that our souls are immortal, and that we've more or less been kind of reincarnated. Throughout life we don't really learn, but we instead get reminded of stuff that we knew in previous lives and had forgotten in the process of being reborn, (Or like, something)
Anyway, that's the gist of it that I got from Plato. I could be totally getting the wrong idea, but that's what I sort-of understood at least.
And the lethargy returns! Aaah!

I, being usually scientific in my ways of thinking, still believe there are no such things as souls. They are just a creation of fiction that our mind creates to lessen the blow of death. Totally just my take on it all as I will only really know when the time comes.
