Sai’s simple innocent experiment goes well: naturally, Hikaru’s usual vacant expression doesn’t change a single bit when the spirit approaches him from behind; long transparent fingers touch the boy’s head gently, cautiously, yet Hikaru keeps babbling absent-mindedly about some cool video game, Street Fighter, X-Men, Final Fantasy, whatever - Sai forgets the obscure title almost immediately, since leather-clad superheroes are infinitely less interesting than tiny round stones. As expected, Sai feels exactly nothing, but he decides - probably in order to satisfy his own restless curiosity - that Hikaru’s hair must be very soft, even if it looks wiry and not particularly clean.
