At the end of the day, I wonder why I bother to wear makeup. No one really seems to notice that I wear it, and it seems more of an inconvenience than anything else. Takes time to put on, lipstick has to be refreshed from time to time throughout the day (and that's setting aside the fact that I feel like I'm eating it half the time). Mascara is ( Read more... )

I know it's often bad for my skin. So I don't wear foundation (which my friends the estheticians tell me is the worst for skin). And I buy my makeup from Origins rather than Target or whatever. At least it's probably a little less bad for skin than CoverGirl or the other cheapo stuff.
As for wearing it....I work in a salon, which my co-workers say means I'm in the beauty business, so I have to wear make-up, because it's part of beauty. Not that I really understand, but I do it because it helps me keep my job (which I like, especially when I'm actually working and not standing around minding the desk or making confirmation calls). And I still look perfectly lovely without the makeup--I doubt my friends would notice the difference at all. My co-workers would, but that's because they deal with that sort of thing every day.

Pictures of what? Me at work? I'm a massage therapist, working in a salon at the local mall. Everybody has to wear black at work. It really isn't all that interesting, it's just work.
