There was undoubtedly something weird about it. Perhaps it was genes, perhaps something more, but Gokudera had been strangely enamored by the rather noisy Squalo since his reappearance - or that is to say, his appearance - in the future. He looked different, it was hard to place, but something about the shark had captured his attention.
Well, it was hardly as though he could miss the long silver-white hair, a little similar to his own, that made Squalo look like a girl whenever he wasn't scowling so fiercely. In fact, Gokudera wondered a little if he reminder him of his mother... nah, she was nothing like that. It was true though if only Squalo was less bad-mouthed and bad-tempered, he would be quite pretty and attractive.
Better not say that aloud.
Squalo looked suspiciously over at the silver haired male sitting a short distance away from where he and Yamamoto were practicing, smoking yet another cigarette. Gokudera was leaning forward against the rail, watching them intently, and Squalo saw no reason for him to ... it wasn't as though he was learning how to use a blade (better, in Yamamoto's case).
He turned back to Yamamoto though he still watched the Vongola storm guardian from the corner of his eye. There was something... strangely alluring in that expression. The emerald green eyes, mysterious. The temper and bad-mouth a bit like his own. The fine features...
It brought new meaning to 'smoking hot'.

Did he just think that?
What the hell was he thinking.
"What's the matter?" Yamamoto asked good naturedly, shinai over a shoulder as he looked at Squalo quizzically.
"Nothing." Squalo replied shortly, and tried to put Gokudera from his mind as he focused on his student.
"VOOOIIIII, you better be ready!"
Over at the fence, Gokudera watched, admiring the long platinum hair as it whipped gracefully with Squalo's every calculated motion, and wishing, just wishing he could touch those long waves.
If only it hadn't been grown for another.
