The timer on the FUNI Ouran page had the announcement scheduled for noon today. I found a blip on my Myspace page from Greg who expressed excitement at being able to finally discuss his new project. That's when I visited the Ouran page and waited fo the clock, which had 15 minutes left on it, to expire. Needless to say I was disappointed when nothing happened but the clock resetting to 30 days and counting. :(
That you so quickly posted the announcement here makes you teh awesome. Boy, was I wrong about who Greg was cast as. I thought for sure "Mr. Solution-to-a-Problem" was gonna bag Hunni. Good thing I don't gamble, yes?
Thanks SO much for the announcement. I giggle at the idea you are directing this and just happen to also be voicing Ms Fujioka. Coincidence..? ;) Anyway, I can't wait for the release...
Sorry for the mix-up on the website. I don't think they ever intended to post the cast there, but parts of the panel are available to watch on the FUNimation website.
I'm confused... who did you think would get Honey?
As soon as I found out Greg was involved, I figured he would be cast as Hunni. Perhaps you haven't heard the little story about the reference I made to him..? A ADR director (whose name escapes me at the moment) commented on Greg being cast in the roles of young boys so often by describing him as "the solution to a problem." It generally meant he tends to be the guy for the job when there is such a shortage of younger voice actoors. I asked Greg about it a couple of Katsucons ago and he didn't seem to mind as long as he was still working and wasn't pigeonholed into a character type. It's one of reasons I imagine he gets so excited about his "adult" or "manly" roles...
I'm really curious to hear how all these choices sound like when put together. I don't know why, but Travis as Mori and Mike as Haruhi's Dad really REALLY amuse me. XD And greg as one of the twins, oh dear, I find that amusingly fitting for some reason. ANd Luci as Hunni, that's perfect to me! I want to hear how Vic's natural enthusiasm comes out with Tamaki. XD And Congrats on Haruhi!
I'm totally not really familiar with the voices of the other people, but I guess that will come in time.
THIRTEEN EPISODES for a release? AWESOME! I absolutely LOVE seeing that happen more often! I'd love for it to become the normal type of release for most series!
