Oh man, good for you :D The more people that stand up for fair wages the better, especially in this field! I hope you find something that pays better soon!

Thanks, I hope so too. Maybe in not groveling for a few bucks I made some positive Karma for myself and something great will come along :)

The line "For 12.00 we can get a foreign veterinarian willing to work as a technician" really fucking bothers me. Basically saying "For a resonable wage, we can take advantage of someone who due to circumstances should probably be making much more." Fuck 'em.

I know! I couldn't believe what I was reading. Believe me, I was way more tactful in my letter than I wanted to be.
There might have been something more like:
"Dear unethical bastard,
Why should I get screwed because of........"
Anyway, I think I got the same point across.

Well, I don't qualify for getting into any full time programs where I would be able to get a student loan. I have to at least start with some distance courses to build up a proof of "worthiness". If I take distance ed, I have to pay for the courses myself since they don't qualify for student loans, and right now I just don't have the money to pay for them. I was totally in a great place to go for it when I had my last job at the vet, but I am only working 3 days a week right now and the pay is pretty low. When I get a regular full time job, I will totally apply for my courses. I was just about to send in my application when I lost my job. It was more than a little disappointing. It wasn't just a job I lost, it was also school, and at least a year of waiting to get into the program I wanted. I feel like a total looser right now. That is why I was so excited about this job, and so disappointed (again) that it didn't work out.
