Exploring the Enterprise in furry form

He'd plotted very very carefully. His human didn't go out much, but he'd managed to time the door, so he'd be able to right next to his human and get out of the blasted room. He'd already explored the entire room. It was time to move on to newer, and more interesting places to explore. He wondered where his posse of cats went. That should be his ( Read more... )

Paula was curled up in one of the squashy chairs in the rec room, idly watching the movie a couple of Engineering ensigns had turned on and checking the football scores from home, which her brother had sent along with his own brand of snarky commentary. She typed her reply, telling him exactly what she thought of his picks and grinning as she clicked send. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw something small and orange peek in the door. Turning, she gave a surprised smile upon seeing the ginger kitten.

"Hello," she said softly. "Who do you belong to?"

He gave her a whithering stare. He belonged to himself and mewled that to her. Humans.

She watched the kitten stare back at her, chuckling at the tiny mew. Getting up slowly so as not to startle it, she went over to the replicator in the corner and got a bowl of milk, returning to place it in the floor and settle cross-legged next to it. Smiling, she extended her hand, beckoning to the kitten. "C'mon, it's okay. You want some nice milk?"

She remained still, watching the kitten debate whether to venture closer.

Oh, that smelled good. He crept up to the bowl, staring at her as he delicately lapped up the milk. Oh that tasted good. He purred as he drank it, licking the bowl near clean.

It had been an odd day, to say the least, Karl thought as he walked along toward the rec deck, hands in his pockets. People turning into bloody kittens --

Speak of the devil. A movement caught his eye; a tiny striped tail that disappeared around a corner ahead.

"Oh, you did not, Pine," Karl muttered to himself, hurrying up but trying to keep his steps light. He peeked before he jumped out, and smiled at the sight of the orange kitten dawdling down the empty corridor, sniffing at the walls as it went. Chris hadn't escaped -- that little fugitive was George Kirk.

George was lost. And he really needed to go to the bathroom. This place sucked. Why wasn't there more toilets? He debated raising his leg to go on the wall. But how would he hide it?

Karl sneaked up behind the kitten and crouched down, getting a firm hand on the back of his neck to keep him in place. "Hi, there," he said, rubbing the top of George's head with his thumb. "You're probably not supposed to be out here. Where's the Admiral?"

George turned to glare at the human suspicious that it was going to start lifting him by the neck. He did not like being helpless like that. He mewled at Karl to let him go. Didn't he have his own kitten?

Nora wouldn't have noticed the cat on the floor, but for the fact that it was brightly colored. Another look confirmed its presence. "Well, hey," she said, kneeling down; she'd always had a soft spot for cats. "I didn't know there was another one here."

He debated for a bit, and then nudged her hand. Would she pet him?

"Oh, that's a good kitty." She rubbed the top of his head where he'd bumped it against her hand, then scratched lightly behind his ears. "You're so soft..."

George purred. Good human, very good human. He leaned into the petting. That felt really good.

George finally found the place he'd been before. It wasn't very interesting in the area he'd been but there was a dark room just off to the side he found once he'd wandered a little. There was a chair inside that just called to him. Oh, this was exactly the right napping place. Warm and just the right shape. It smelled good. He kneaded it.

Bones wandered in, not sure where he'd left that regen unit he'd been trying to re-modulate. About to flop into his chair, he stopped himself just as his eyes lit upon the ball of orange fur napping in his chair. "Wha-"

Then he remembered and recognized the invader. "Hey George," he said, rubbing the kitten's head with one finger. "What are you doing here?"

George opened his eyes up sleepily. Someone was destroying his sleep. He sniffed at it curiously then gave a little lick. Tasted funny. He yawned and stretched slowly.

Cat spit. Joy. Bones sighed, then lifted the fuzzball up and placed him back on his lap after he sat down on his chair, wondering to himself how furry his ass was going to be. "You comin' by to visit me, George?" he asked, messing with the kitten's ears.
