House - 8x22 - Everybody Dies; the grand finale

May 22, 2012 11:26

After 8 successful seasons (3 of which were not so successful), House has just aired its last episode.

I didn't like it, not one bit.

The pacing was godawful, the plot was all over the place, I didn't care not one bit for the junkie, the metaphors were heavy handed, the “mystery” failed to grab me and the first 20 min of the episode were ~people ~talking. House says at the end “nobody cares for the medicine” but the truth is, this was the only reason I watched this show. House' “lets analyze the crap out to everyone and lets ALWAYS be right” has been tiresome since season 4.

(and hey burning house metaphor, I got you! I really did!!)

Was there anyone who believed it House's death for one second? Such a Holmes thing to do. But no, I didn't buy it so I didn't care for his funeral one bit.

Lack of Cuddy, was noticeable.

It was nice to see Kutner and Amber again - they were my favorite Housites.

NOW LET'S TALK ABOUT THE ENDING AND THE FACT THAT HOUSE RISKED HIS LIFE, FAKED HIS OWN DEATH AND MAY END UP IN JAIL FOR LIFE FOR WILSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE DID IT FOR WILSON!!!!!!!!1!!!11!!! HIS OWN TRUE LOVE!!!!!!!! OMG WILSON/HOUSE TOGETHER FOREVERY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CANON! CANON!

As a standalone episode, this would be 4/10, as a season finale it would be 6/10 (because I would have been curious how they'd resolve it and have House practice medicine) but as a finale of the entire show - can't give it more than 3.
