What about L' Hypothèse du tableau volé? I'm going to keep calling you on it whenever you leave something out :P
With Break Up the Dance I was under the impression that Polanski staged the whole film except for the actual 'dance scene'. Or at least that's how I interpreted his comments.
Did you by any chance get to watch his really short film Teeth Smile? That one is my favorite of all his shorts even though it's only two minutes or so.
Gahhh!! What's worse is that Dylan already reminded me about it a couple days ago, and I still forgot to include it. I don't know if I'll add it to next week's entry, though, because I generally don't write much about repeat viewings unless I feel I have something new to say that I didn't say last time. I should probably make a note of it, though.
You may be right about Break Up the Dance. I couldn't locate his original comments, so what I read might not be reliable. And I didn't get to see Teeth Smile...I only saw what was shown on TCM (which I recorded months ago and only just watched last week).
But anyway, I asked about Teeth Smile because I wasn't sure if you watched those on TCM or if you were watching the Knife in the Water dvd. I know we talked about it but I can't remember if you saw that one?
Also, Region 2 dvds have started playing on my computer again SO I'll watch your movies this week finally and finally get them back to you and finally finally finally have watched them (I mention it twice because it's that important).
Doing anything later today? Monday, that is. I just have to finish a two-page comic because the deadline moved forward by two months and less-pressingly I have to finish this painting for a, ahem, client. (I like being able to say that...)
- Cool, I've actually had an extremely strong desire to watch Werckmeister again lately, so it'll be nice to have it available again.
- I have a film group meeting tonight. After that I was planning on watching one of the two movies I have that are due back at the library tomorrow (either Yeelen or Pather Panchali). We could watch one of them together. Or we could do something else. Or we could say we're going to watch one of them and end up doing something else.
