*Crawls off of ship and wanders down to the planet Risa, looking completely lost. Approaches a woman with a Starfleet uniform*

Excuse me, ma'am! I need some help. *Bewildered expression*

D'Tan rose a sharp eyebrow as he listened to Kirk speak. "I ...I am unsure if they would be considered renegade. If it is true that I am in a different time-line, or universe, I do not know what has happened here and what has not. It appears to be an alternative reality but it also appears to be very far into the past, though I still remain the same age that I was when ..." He looked confused for a moment, finding his tenses difficult especially as English wasn't his native language. He could speak better Vulcan!

"I was ...where I was before. In my place, Romulan intelligence, the Tal-shiar, tried to take over Vulcan and enslave them. Mr. Spock stopped them though! Romulans have never liked Vulcans, I think maybe...most of us in the majority are like that group. I'm not, though." He knew it was a lot to take in, probably since he just admitted that most of his race wished to take over Vulcan in his own time-line, so he paused for a second thoughtfully before he spoke again.

"Rihannsu eh W'lq'nsu qual nash-veh stariben-tor-lar. I ( ... )

Shit. This wasn't what he was expecting at all. Kirk rubbed the side of his neck, thinking about it all. He had no idea if Prime was even the person this Romulan was looking for. "Well." He studied the other in front of him in silence for several moments, then finally sighed. I'm gonna have to talk to Prime to see if this guy is telling the truth.

"Something you'll have to understand is that I can't simply trust you, no matter your race, being on my ship. Until I can verify even some of your story, you're going to have to remain on Risa."

"I understand, sir. Thank you for speaking with me as an equal even if it is difficult for you. You are surprisingly logical, Captain." D'Tan gave a nod, and smiled before he could stop himself.

"Perhaps I will build a campfire, I have always wanted to camp out ever since Mr. Spock told me how he had done it." It was clear that D'Tan almost hero-worshipped the man, who had accepted him for who and what he was with little preamble and encouraged him to learn more about Vulcan and about Surak's tenants. "Do you have any marshmelons?" he asked, repeating the word the way that Spock had pronounced it, looking up shyly.

[OOC: Sorry I haven't gotten back to you! I hadn't realized I hadn't replied! ;;]

The logical thing was an amusing compliment, reminding him of Spock. It was strange to think of the idea of Prime being worshiped, kind of child-cute. The shy look made Kirk mentally note that Romulans and Vulcans lived to be in their multi-hundreds, so sixteen was like a damn toddler practically. "Not sure what a marshmelon is." Kirk said honestly, "But I'm sure things could get cleared up."

He hesitated, knowing it might give a bit of information away, but he said, "Can you tell me one definite thing, something unique to yourself, that if I told it to him he would know it was you?"

Leah was quietly following the conversation between D'Tan and the captain. He most likely meant a marsh *mallow*, she thought at D'Tan's question. There were a couple of bags in the galley and it wouldn't be any trouble to go back and get one of them.

OOC - I'm going to try and get out of the thread ASAP and let you guys work out whatever needs to be worked out.

D'Tan nodded solemnly, attempting to think on something personal that he could have shared with Spock that no one might not have known except for him. He remembered a brief conversation with the elder Vulcan and nodded again resolutely. "When I was a child I used to have toys that were given to me by my parents. They were the syllabic nucleus of the Vulcan language. Mine contained the markings of the P'Jem monastary. Kolinahr, logic, peace. Most of our interaction was based on the movement, thus it is not likely he will remember anything of me other than that I possess quite a few Vulcan artifacts, including the original untranslated version of the structure of langauge and the logic within it.*" He smiled again brightly. "I remember I overheard him say that he could instigate change with a single flower! Oh...then he told Captain Picard that he had a closed mind. Um, but ...mostly, the flower thing?" He looked up hopefully, wondering if that was enough information to make a proper assessment.

He seems so very young. Kirk thought to himself. He studied the Romulan, remembering other ones, but found it was hard to place this young man in the same category. There were some subtle and not-so-subtle differences in facial structure, too. "What year are you from?" Was his last question. Prime, we're going to need to talk. This kid's got hero worship bad. "And how old were you when you talked to him?"

"I was fifteen, sir. Before I came here it was 2368. What is the year currently?" D'Tan replied, looking slightly befuddled at the idea that he was no longer in the same time-line that he had originated. It felt kind of like jet lag, only about twenty million times worse. Dutifully, he kept his expressions limited to blank and more blank. D'Tan rose both of his eyebrows as something came to him that was completely startling. "Admiral Kirk had brown eyes! How fascinating, that in the past...I am notably confused, sir. There are so many differences. In my time, Romulans looked like I do. There is so much change, here."

"Admiral?" Hey, interesting, he'd be an admiral someday... wait. 2368? Quick mental calculation. 2368... 2258... 110!? He was 110 years old where D'Tan came from!? "Trust me, it only gets weirder and weirder. Alright D'Tan, stay on Risa for now, let me see what I can find out, and I'll come find you." It would be easy enough to locate what was most likely the only Romulan on the damn planet.

"Okay! Thank you, sir." D'Tan gave a quick smile, and straightened his tunic almost nervously. "There are some very interesting botanic qualities to this planet..." D'Tan bent down to examine a flower that was growing haphazardly off of a stone wall, and looked particularly interested in it before realising that Captain Kirk probably wished to say goodbye. He turned around sheepishly and said, "I will be here when you come back, sir. I understand the predilection toward confirmation in Human societies, but I am telling the truth." Another smile, and a tilted head, before turning back to examine the plant in front of him.

Like a very odd version of Spock that actually had some emotions. The comparison made him laugh in his head but he only grinned on the outside. "Some of us aren't telepathic." He pointed out, then went to see if he could go and find Prime.

[OOC: I think the mun for Spock Prime is on probable hiatus! They said it was okay to god-mod him around, though, so IDK! ;_;]
