It had gone out as an announcement over a month ago, sent to every padd and station by one very excited Captain. A Halloween party! Must come in costume, must have fun

Since he had come up with an idea for a Halloween party, Kirk had known what he wanted to go as. Maybe it had been a huge influence from Risa, Uhura-Nyota-getting him to sing. So he had begun to practice.

The more he looked in the mirror, though... the more he was sure it was the right choice for the party.

In the room, the quiet music that had been playing died, and a new music came on. It was pumped loud, and the room went dim.

Someone started to sing,

Night-time sharpens,
heightens each sensation
Darkness stirs and wakes imagination
Silently the senses abandon their defenses ...

Slowly, gently night unfurls its splendor
Grasp it, sense it - tremulous and tender
Turn your face away
from the garish light of day,
turn your thoughts away
from cold, unfeeling light -
and listen to the music of the night ...In a very well fitting tux, all edged in red, hair slicked back, and the traditional mask set in place on his face, Kirk stepped out into the room

"Nice costume," Bones told him, enjoying the sight of Kirk entering the party, his old swagger back. He wondered how much of it was real and how much was Kirk bullshit. Either way, people got to see their captain, and that was what was important.

"I can't help but noticing, darlin', that I'm nearly naked here while you're covered from head to toe. That seems very wrong, Jim," he chuckled low as he stepped closer to Kirk, feeling better with a couple drinks in him.

Bones looked fucking hot. He wondered if he could get Bones to stay in costume when he dragged him back to their quarters. Kirk slid in close and wrapped an arm around Bones, pulling him into a kiss just for a second. He gave a wide, lazy grin. "You... You're just lucky this is a public place. And even that's barely stopping me."

The public kiss surprised him a little, but in a very good way. "You're lucky I even made it here. Almost didn't come."

"I would have been pissed if I had done all that practicing and you weren't here for it." Kirk pointed out, smirking.

"You need to thank your brother," Bones told him. "Practically dragged my here by my dyed hair."

"The song - fuckin' amazing, Jim. You're good at that, you know," Bones said, taking a step closer to Kirk, close enough to whisper in his ear. "Maybe sing it to me later, when its just us?"

[kirktastic]

A shiver passed straight through Kirk and he nodded, "Mmmfuckyea..." He reached up, sliding a hand through that crop of blond hair. He studied it, then grinned, "Fuck, Bones... you look kinda good as a blond."

"You like the hair like this?" Bones grinned, flexing his naked chest at Kirk. His smile fell just a little, became more feral. "You remember what this is gonna cost you right?" he asked.

[kirktastic]

Kirk slipped a hand up Bones' chest, fucking loving that look. "Yea. And oh yea, I sure as fuck do. Twenty-four hours, all yours."

It was good that he remembered... "Feel like an idiot in this, Jim. I don't know where you got this idea, but - " he shook his head, grumbling "- you don't get to pick anymore of my costumes, ever again."

His hand slipped on top of Kirk's over his chest, pressing it closer to his skin.

"Hey," Kirk protested with a bit of a pout, "I come up with good ideas for costumes. About half the crew has been checking you out when they don't think you're looking."

"Checking me-" Unbelievable... "Jim, I don't want them 'checking me out'," Bones told him. "Now you," he reached up and touched Kirk's hair, their familiar gesture, "you look great." And he did.

"You want a drink?" Bones asked, leaning in close. "Your dad's over there tending bar, and he makes a great Jim Kirk."

[kirktastic]

"I want them checking you out." Kirk's grin even wider. "Makes me proud to have a guy that looks so fucking delicious." Oh yea, he was laying it on thick, but that was because he wanted to in the worst way.

"...A WHAT?" Kirk sputtered, then suddenly remembered, "Fuck, that drink from Risa? It got on the ship!" He laughed, eyes bright. "Maybe I should taste myself then." Said as dirty as possible, complete with a lick of a fingertip.

Bones wasn't an exhibitionist, but he was pretty fucking close to pushing Kirk against that wall back there and-

And then Kirk did that thing with his finger. And his tongue.

"Fuck." Bones stared at him. There wasn't anything he did that wasn't just bathed in sexuality. He was still staring at Kirk's mouth. "Yeah, you should taste it."

"Oh, I plan to." He purred, then walked over towards the bar, cape flowing behind him.

Bill regarded the younger captain from a short distance, admiring the perfect lines of his tux. He wondered whether it had come out of the replicator. If so, those things were better than he'd given them credit for. He wondered whether Kirk could be fooled.
