John stared at Tina from a distance away. According to Kirk, this was the head nurse, Christine Chapel. He had caught sight of her a while ago, looking away before he could get drawn in by how much she looked like Sam.

But now, he couldn't help himself. She looked exactly like her. Exactly like her.

He wondered if she talked like Sam as well.

He sidled up to Tina, keeping his eyes down. "Excuse me, Nurse Chapel?"

Tina turned to see who was speaking to her, a "yes?" on her lips, and froze. Good God, he really did look like McCoy. As often as it happened, she didn't think she'd ever get used to it.

"That's me," she said. "You must be John Grimm."

[john_grimm]

He didn't know why he was here. He didn't know what he was going to say.

"Umm... Yeah, hi! You're right, I am John Grimm. Just, uh, just wanted to introduce myself." He stuck his hand awkwardly in between them.

She did talk like Sam.

She shook his hand. "Tina. Unless we're in sickbay and you're getting on my nerves. Then it's Nurse Chapel."

[john_grimm]

"Right, right. Don't get on your bad side. Got it."

Was there something else to say? He couldn't think of anything.

"Well! Nice to meet you. Enjoy the party!"

[rn_chapel]

"Sure," Tina said, looking a little bemused. "You, too."

[john_grimm]

John wandered away, waiting until he was out of Tina's sight to begin hitting himself in the head.

Stupid, stupid, stupid. What did you think? That she was gonna be Sam?
