*sits in his office, wondering when he started using it so much, working furiously through much hated paperwork that's backlogged since hell broke loose*
...That at least settles part of it. *Relaxes, a little, because that was the part worrying him the most. The part that could be most easily rejected. Sex was sex was sex, but this... meant being a part of someone for the rest of their lives. But, hell, it seems to him like that's already happened for them. He's known them for only what, a week now, tops? And he can tell. They're meant to be together as crewmates, as friends, as everything else they needed to be.*
Alright, so the sex part. I know you and probably what you're thinking, *Just giving Kirk a long look* But nothing about you *a look to Bones*
Bones and I'll go with you, we'll make sure you're allowed to get into the room. I know that he was thinking about... er, all of us but... this is more personal then that.
*McCoy returns Jim's smile with a small one of his own, along with a resigned little jerk of the head. The more he considers this, the more he realises he's hardly averse to it at all. Jim and Spock mean more to him than he can put into words. They might as well take their odd little relationship to the next step...*
*He nods at Kirk's words, hands still behind his back.* Like I said, I'll do what it takes. *Including the sex. Another idea he has never considered before, but now that it comes to it...*
*His attitude of command is merely habitual, not usurpation. His nerves seem raw, on fire, his gut a knot of anticipation and worry for his friend. He fears these ought to be incompatible, that he should not feel excitement at the prospect when Spock's life hangs in the balance.
But the truth is, as far as he's concerned, it does not. As long as Spock will allow them to help, he is in no danger. He must believe that. And so the anticipation is allowed.
He puts his hand on McCoy's shoulder again, giving it a reassuring squeeze before dropping it. Things would change, now, irrevocably. But how much?*
...Perfect. *Can't help but grin, and feel a tiny pang of jealousy. Hard to deny the strength of the bonds between the three of them.*
Honestly, if I was you, I'd prepare myself in every way necessary for this. He barely was thinking when I was with him... I don't know if he will be at all by now.
*McCoy exchanges a glance with Jim, taking untold amounts of reassurance from the words and contact - he's aware that the Captain is a lot more confident about this situation than he is, and he's grateful for the support. As willing as he is, he has a feeling he'll need it...*
Are you sure you're okay with this? Bones... your friendship, your love, are not in question. But this is a lot to ask. If you can't, Spock will understand. I'll understand. And we'll make it work.
I know what I want, Jim. Yeah, it's daunting, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna change my mind. *He forces himself to swallow the nervousness and pull up the anticipation instead, which has been lurking underneath ever since the proposition was suggested. It's beginning to dawn on him that maybe his subconscious has been preparing him for this for a while...*
*He stands up, meeting his other-self's eyes for just a moment before leading the way. He knew the room where Spock was well since it was directly next to his own.*
*To the door* Captain's Over Ride on Door Lock - Kirk Zero-Three-Gamma-Three-Two-Delta-Five. *he nodded when there was a tiny hiss, the locks releasing on the door*
*He steps back and looks to the both of them for a moment before saying quietly.* ...Good luck.
Jim?

I can handle it.
*He glances at Bones.*
And I'll be there to make sure you can, too.

You too. *He glances significantly at the younger Bones before nodding to them both and entering Spock's room.*
