Magazines

Was at the grocery store this morning and looking at the magazines at the checkout counter. My local store is so different from others. Titles include:

Essence
Jet
Word Up!
Black Man
Black Life
Sista

and so on. I don't think they even have People which is what I usually see in other stores.

And you say *I* live in the 'hood? My Tom Thumb is actually pretty posh, though they do carry the Spanish tabloids... those are pretty funny. I should buy one just to practice my reading comprehension!

Somehow I am more afraid of my people who live in your neighborhood than of the blacks in my neighborhood. Perhaps because I know what my people are capable of. Ha ha.
