surprisingly, it's pretty wawrm here. Everyone is asking how everyone elses break was, and in between our games of Mario Kart, a few people commented my hair cut

First and foremost: you're coming here on the 8th, right? For College Bowl? Are you guys playing the next day too, or not? Tell me details- I want to see you, but it would be really great if it was for longer than between rounds.
And re physics. In the risks of sounding trite and obvious: why are you majoring in it if you don't love it, if you don't want to spend your life doing it? Obviously an undergrad major doesn't determine your path in life, but if you're haunted by the thought of the inevitable, the best reaction (in my eyes) is to find the best thing to fill that time, and fill it as well as you possibly can.
See you soon! I'm really excited (hopefully your plans haven't changed and all of this expectancy is in vain)
Gaaah! I just got e-mailed by the head of college bowl, and I'm not sure if I'm on the team for this Saturday... sign up were first come first serve while I was incommunicado without and internet connection.
I'm (thinking of) majoring in physics because I got 100% on the midterrm. I'm in the most difficult physics class they have here, and I feel like I have an understanding, an insight, and maybe even a unique talent in it. I do enjoy it, and I love explaining it.
The problem is that at the end of the day, I'm not sure if I can find physics or any other science fulfilling.
I'm starting to think that what I need in my life my not be a fulfilling major, but a better balance. I'm not sure though; next semester I'm going to take either a philosophy class or a psychology class, or both.
nooo! be on the team! or even better, sneak onto the bus (or however you guys are getting here) and hang out with me all day saturday! yes.
just let me know what's going on. that sucks for many reasons if you can't go, because I'm sure it's going to be a fun tournament too.
hmmm... balance definitely = good. but maybe you should just be a superman and major in physics and philosophy and combine the two in some sort of amazing humanity-affecting discovery. I think that should be your post-college plan. seriously... well, I don't think you're necessarily asking for advice, but just remember you don't have to decide quite yet. and I don't know how your days are working, but college offers such people-oriented opportunities too. so don't forget your fans.
wow, I should really just call you. I'm going to try and make time for that. take care.
I just found out that I will be on the team after all.
Are you going to be at the tournament? If it's anything like the last few ones then there will be basically no free time at all, except for about an hour for lunch =( .
Unfortunately, Princeton doesn't let students double major. You technically could, but the demands for a major are so great (not just classes, but also junior independent work, senior thesis, etc. ) that no one in the University's history has done it (to my knowledge).
Anyway, my cell phone is 1-310-429-0139, although I haven't had it on lately. My dorm room phone is 609-986-8835. I hope to see you on Saturday!
Brent, I totally understand what you are going through right now. Out of all subjects I'm best at math, but I too don't know whether majoring in it will be fulfilling. Unfortunately, the thing you're best at isn't always the thing that you love doing the most. The best advice I can give you is to explore your options - take classes you find interesting and go from there. I'm taking political theory right now and its pretty interesting so I think I'm goin to take another polisci class next semester. As for now I'm double majoring in applied mathematics and political science. Hey, at least one has to be fulfilling, right? :)
