"That was a stupid move you made Uruha. You thought I didn't see it but I did. I naively thought that if I turned a blind eye to it you won't do it again but you went on to dig your own grave."

Uruha sobbed. Large pools of tears began trekking down his face. It wasn’t intentional. It wasn't. "I'm sorry Ruki. I won't do it again. I promise." pleaded Uruha. He couldn't infuriate Ruki now. Not when he had a chance of seeing Hiroto again.

"What are you doing?"

Uruha jumped right out of his skin. His head snapped up and he whipped to the direction the low but clear voice came from. He could make out the figure of a tall person within the crack of the door ajar.

"N-n-nothing." stuttered Uruha as he shoved the faulty stationery under his pillow and placed both his hands on his lap.

"There's no use hiding, I saw it. And if you do that you're gonna stain the sheets. See?" the person pointed out, and Uruha's eyes widened as tiny specks of red begun to infiltrate the white sheets. Oh no. Oh no oh no oh no. The doctor and nurses are going to suspect something is wrong the next time they came in. He totally blew his cover. He was doomed. Doomed-

"It's okay." The stranger said. Coarse fingers gently held Uruha's bleeding wrist while his other hand dabbed at the stained spot with a wet tissue. "There look, it's all better now." The stranger grinned. "Not entirely gone but it's barely visible. You'll be alright."

Uruha gasped. "How did you-" Now he was dead for sure. Ruki would kill him.

"You're not Shiroyama-kun aren’t you?"

Uruha averted his eyes and trained them on his hands which he noticed with slight horror were now trembling slightly.

"Who are you?"

It was best to remain silent. Anything he said now would do him more harm than good. Uruha choked back on a sob as tears threatened to spill from his eyes.

"Hey, it's alright." The pair of warm rough hands wrapped itself around Uruha's own. "I'm like you too."

"I won't tell anyone."

Uruha's eyes widened again. "Y-you mean, you're not you?"

The stranger nodded. "I'm Hiroto. But I'm actually Shou." He flicked the tag on his wrist. "Shou Kazamasa." He gave Uruha a kind assuring smile. "So would you like to tell me who you are too?"

Blinking back tears, Uruha coughed out the courage to answer his question. "Uruha. I'm Uruha."

"That's a nice name."

Heat crept up Uruha's cheeks as he mumbled a weak thanks.

"… You have a nice name too."

Hiroto stared at him, before throwing his head back to laugh. "Do I?" Uruha meekly nodded in response, his cheeks glowing even more crimson. "I guess I do then. Thank you too."

Uruha managed a small smile at the other's grin. And when he tore his eyes away from Hiroto's ones which seem to possess a mighty gravitational pull every time he stared for a moment longer, Uruha realised that Hiroto's hands were still cupped securely over his own.

It was undeniable that Uruha feared Ruki. But with the hope of seeing Hiroto again coupled with that memory alone, Uruha felt as though he gained several ounces of courage to make empty promises.

A/N: Changed the name of the condition from MPD to DID! Did a bit of reading up a couple of nights back and there are actually a lot of names for this type of condition. MPD was the older name. It seems like DID is what its called now. But they are all basically the same thing.
