Synopsis: Aoi and Shou have dissociative identity disorder. What happens when parts of themselves hate and love one of the other, when the main individuals themselves are not aware of their other identities?

Uruha was terrified. His hands shook as he tapped the pass and watched the small red doors rotate open, granting him access into the train platform. It was only after the man behind him coughed impatiently did Uruha realise he was holding up the queue. Jerking his knees into action, he scuttled through and soon found himself anxiously standing at the edge of the platform where the train was due to arrive in 3 minutes.

The tracks below seemed to beckon him in. "Jump, jump!" they called. Uruha shook his head. He squinted his eyes shut and clapped his hands over his ears. He couldn't falter now. Not when he had taken over Aoi's body for the first time while he was conscious. Not when he was out rightly defying Ruki who was raging inside. His willpower could not afford to cave in now. He just couldn't. Not when he was about to see Hiroto after two whole years.

The ride though long, felt shorter than expected. Excitement and anticipation coursed through Uruha's veins at the prospect of meeting Hiroto. But at the same time, fear buzzed through his fingertips at the consequences which awaited him. The only way to avoid it was to take over Aoi completely, but Uruha knew that was impossible. The primary core of his and Ruki's existence stemmed from Aoi's hurt when he was a kid. Their role was to protect and shield him from coming into any harm. Ruki was good at that. Uruha though, he was useless and he was aware of that. He was whatever Ruki chided him to be. He never denied it. But that never meant that Uruha never wanted to contribute to protecting Aoi either. Yet... What was he doing now?

He was making decisions for himself. Not for Aoi.
He was pursuing something he wants. Not what Aoi want.
He was thinking of his own happiness. Not Aoi's.

Uruha was prioritising his wants before Aoi's. And that was the rule that should never be broken.

Yet, when he strode through the clear glass doors of the hospital trying to look as normal as Aoi would, into the corridor where Shou's room was, Uruha knew that he wouldn't regret it. Not when he knocked on the door twice, and heard "I'll get it Shou." to have Hiroto poking his head out of the door, his eyes as wide as could be.

"Uruha?"

He nodded. And when Hiroto broke into a wide smile, took two steps forward and embraced him, Uruha was more certain than ever than he could brave any storm which would come after he exited the glass doors.
