“Those two are here again.” Nudged Ruki, pointing to the duo at the corner of the café with the spoon he was in the midst of drying. “It’s rude to point Ru!” Kai scolded, though that didn’t stop him from glancing over again.
Placing the utensil on the table, Ruki picked up another one and started to repeat the process. “The two of you are weird. What do you see in him? Covering up his face doesn’t make him any less conspicuous to the public.”
“I think it’s cute.” Came the simple reply accompanied with a bright smile.
Ruki snorted. He knew all too well how head over heels his best friend was with that ninja. He saw it all when Kai sprayed another dollop of whipped cream and drizzled extra caramel over the taller friend’s drink. He also witnessed it when Kai snuck a scoop of premium coffee beans for ninja’s coffee though he only ordered a regular one.
If he asked Kai why he bothered being nice to that guy’s friend, Kai would probably beam and say “Why not?” Or, it was a calculated move to get into the best friend’s good books. After all, acquiring best friends’ approvals are the first and foremost to do.
Sneaky bastard.
Ruki had to smirk at that. No one except him knew how cunning and devious Kai could get under that cheery cover of his.
“So how serious are you about him?”
“Very~” Kai sang.
“How very is ‘very’?” Deadpanned Ruki.
“I’d harvest the most expensive coffee beans in the world for him.”
The spoon slipped out of Ruki’s fingers and his eyes widened. “That’s very, very, very serious…”
