Synopsis: Broken, in all the wrong ways.
Ruki lay on his back on the cement pavement. Eyes closed, peaceful, his hands neatly rested on his chest. Only his hands, bloodied.
Blood surrounded the scene - splattered across the floor; splashed all over the walls. Police officers stood around him, perplexed and confused. Why would a perpetrator take off with a pair of arms and leave the victim alive in such a state? This was sick - beyond the point of inhumanity.
In the room, Aoi paced around the anxiously as he trained his eyes solely on the ground. Papers tiled the cheery coloured walls and what seemed like happy figments of children's imagination scrawled with crayons were actually words dictating, 'You're disgusting you freak!' Freak - that was what Ruki had become. Uruha sat crying next to his bed, the person on it now bore a poor semblance to who he was before.
Gone was the dynamic diva of a vocalist. What lay on the white sheets now was a distorted, engorged, poorly rejoined body with limbs that never belonged to him. The hospital had somehow pieced Ruki back together again, but what was the point of it when he had been reduced to such a state where he would be better off in hell?
Another burst of anger flared beneath his eyelids and Aoi stormed out of the room before Uruha could get out of his seat.
He had to kill the motherfucker.
Spiraling down the stairwells of the hospital, he trudged ahead. With no clues, and no destination in mind, Aoi continued forward.
The crimson sky soon melted into black and nothing stood in front of Aoi except a run down derelict building. Uncertain and unsure, he steeled his guts as he entered. However, an obstacle stood in his way, tripping him over when he entered a dim room with boarded up windows and rusty nails. He stilled when a slight patter was heard above him. Kneeling down, Aoi felt for the item which he had fallen over. He ran his hands over a coarse canvas material and split open the bag upon finding a zip. Guns spilled out of it instantly. Was this used by that bastard? Aoi gritted his teeth, grabbed the longest rifle he found and begun upstairs.
Long musty corridors came into sight and corroded doors hung off creaking hinges. The only source of light was the moon peeking in through the wooden planks.
He was here.
Aoi toed open the door and what greeted him was a disheveled blonde slumped at a filthy corner of the room. A maniacal grin was split across his face as he clumsily got up and stumbled towards Aoi.
Aoi doubled over in shock and he fell. The rifle skidded away from him and his eyes widened at the deranged being making his way towards him.
"R-Reita? Why..."
Reita scoffed, threw back his head and guffawed. "Why? There's no why Aoi. I just... Felt like it. That's all." He grinned.
"It was fun while it lasted though." The blonde man said as he now leaned over Aoi, his index finger pointing to a pair of severed arms where he was sitting just moments ago.
''Does Ruki want them back?'' he cackled. Bloody fingers coated with grime gripped Aoi's collar and shoved him up against the wall.
Ruki was right. He's really lost it. This person here was no longer the Reita they once knew. This person here was a sick, demented, twisted being.
"Poor Ruki..." Reita drawled, "I thought taking his whole arms were too much so I returned his hands to him. That way he could still write and hold a microphone again." He paused, then his lips curled up into a smirk. "Oh wait, he still can't do that can he?"
Growling, Aoi gathered all his strength and pushed Reita off him, who staggered backwards and rolled over laughing. Aoi then hurried over and grabbed the rifle. Panting, he returned to his spot and slowly raised the end of it to Reita's head.
''Are you going to do that now Aoi?'' Reita sneered. Aoi looked away and gulped. But he jumped out of his skin when strong hands gripped the long noose of the weapon. Aoi's eyes widened in horror.
Tears streamed down the blonde man's cheeks as he grabbed the rifle and maneuvered it to his forehead. ''Do it. Do it now Aoi - Yuu. Do it before he-'' Reita trashed his head to the sides, ''before I hurt you.'' Aoi forced himself to meet the glazed eyes of the begging man. Chills crept down his spine as he spotted a glimpse of recognition in those pained fawn brown irises. ''A-Akira?'' ''Quick, do it now before he takes over. Do it for 'Taka. I owe him that much.'' Reita choked. ''Yuu, don't... Don't let him forgive me.''
Reita closed his eyes and Aoi remained still, conflicted. How could he shoot his friend? There was still hope wasn't it? His friend had emerged-He was wrong.
Onyx piercing eyes gripped Aoi like a vice, and coal burned behind his pupils. Now it was Aoi's turn to close his eyes. Tearing his eyes away, he apologised under his breath and with tears searing his lids, Aoi pulled the trigger.
Dragging his weary and worn body back to the hospital, Aoi stopped in his tracks when a white strip of paper fell onto his feet. He tilted his head upwards to the sky and what could only be described as white filled the entire sky.
White streamers and small squares of white confetti in larger squares of 9 and 16 flowed gracefully down to the ground. Pairs of symmetrical white moths batted their wings slowly, gracefully as they danced facing each other in the air.
''He's gone isn't he?'' A soft voice startled Aoi out of his trance. ''R-Ruki!? Sorry I-'' He buried his face in his hands, guilt of his earlier deed swallowing him whole again. ''It's alright.'' A small warm hand settled on Aoi's arm. An equally small warm smile graced Ruki's split lips. ''There was no other way. You've saved us both Aoi.'' Ruki turned and stared after the flock of moths. ''I'm sure Akira is in a better place now.''
Aoi turned and followed Ruki's line of sight where a pair of moths fluttered to the clouds.
''Yes... I'm sure he is.''
A/N: Slightly altered towards the end but welcome to my dreamscape of pink ponies and fluffy rainbows. It's creepy how a moth flew next to me while I was at the 'white' paragraph...
