Uruha’s pov
Reita's hand shifted from my shoulder to my chin, turning my head to face him, telling me that it’s alright now. I smiled and nodded, my left hand moving up to cup his face. Together, we stood up from the bench and headed towards the door.
Closing his fingers around the shiny door knob, he gently rotated it to the right, revealing our entrance to the space behind.
Kai's sitting on the bed, grinning as he returned a glass of water back to the short table next to him. He motioned for us to sit at the chair beside his bed. Taking my hand, Reita maneuvered me over to where Kai was, and I sat down, him standing next to me, his hand gripped firmly around my right shoulder, assuring me again that all will be fine. I felt my heart flutter a little and I turned back to give him a small smile. Then I reverted my attention next to my friend propped up on the bed.
Kai greeted us warmly and told us he was glad to see us. He asked us if we wanted any water as that was all he could offer us for now. We both declined and replied that we are fine, to which he chuckled and said that when he would treat us all to beer when he gets discharged. After his laughter died down though, his cheery expression turned solemn. He turned to face me, and then he took both mine and Reita's hands and placed his over mine. Kai smiled gently at me, and then at Reita, and spoke the words I never thought I would hear.
I forgive you, Uruha.
Ignoring my wide eyes and gaping mouth, he faced Reita and told him to take good care of me, and don't do anything to which would make him regret his decision.
Reita laughed and patted Kai's hand, thanking him over and over again and told him he definitely won't regret doing what he just did. He then bent down and planted a small kiss on my cheek, stroking my hair lovingly as he did so.
Meeting Kai's gaze again, I leaned over and hugged him, thanking him for both his forgiveness and magnanimity. After pulling back, Kai laughed and waved me off saying that he's gotten more than enough thank-yous in a day. I grinned at him again and told him that he's the bestest friend one could ever have.
Sensing two taps on my shoulder, I turned around to see my now official boyfriend tilting his head to the direction of the door. Thanking Kai once again, we both told him to take care and Reita's hand clasped around mine again, as we walked out of the room.
Once outside and the door safely closed behind us, Reita embraced me and repeated the words he said before we entered the room:
It’s alright now.
Everything above is a lie.
A/N: Oh myyy. Seems like this chapter is confusing and misleading. It's based on Uruha's pov and what he wished would have happened.
