Some asshole taxi driver has just dumped a guy off at our place suitcases and all rayher than go the extra 3 blocks to the actual address. We assume its because he wanted to get back to the airport for another fair. My wonderful husband has just popped the guy in the car and is taking him to the right address now. Can't believe some people!

I am in awe of where I live right now. I may well be the only person in here (Drs office yet again) that only speaks one language. So far I have heard Greek, Italian, French and what I think was something Scandinavian. Of course there is English as well, or I'd be screwed. So Mr Abbott won't let people come here if they arrive by boat even if it is the only way to flee persecution. Even though they may be highly skilled or willing to apply themselves to any trade needed in this country, and yet you can come in on a temporary work visa. The price you pay for Medicare is long waits. So far 35min (which is pretty good) and we are down to 2 people in front of me - no, make that 1!
What concerns me is that I got here 15 minutes before the practice was meant to be open, and there were already 5 people inside waiting to be seen. There are 3 medical centers just in my neighborhood and I ( Read more... ) -

We went to the Brisbane entertainment centre last night and saw a comedian named Michael McIntyre. If you've not heard of him please google him. He was spectacular. Having one of those days where I just can't concentrate. Everything I do seems to contain miniature distractions. Even walking the dog at the dog park held hidden traps, conversations with the dog walkers lead to unfinished sentences and disturbances by dogs jumping on each other or barrelling into legs.
