I knew you wouldn't be able to resist for long. Seriously, though, you should watch it. It's a hell of a lot of fun and you're only like one season behind. The "seasons" only consist of three 90min episodes and the second one is airing tomorrow (today? JANUARY FIRST) in the UK.
I suspect availability for streaming no later than January second, LOL.
Yes, Mycroft is quite sensible that way, which reminds me---I don't think I mentioned Mycroft's umbrella even once! Of course, knowing me, if I had I would have ended up with an entire section devoted to his umbrella, complete with fanvids. /slightly obsessed
I have a slight preference for Mycroft/John, but M/L is growing on me. ;)
Thanks for the comment. It's always nice to meet another Mycroft fan. :D
Mycroft is sexy and fascinating and I do heartily agree with this post!
With one exception: The statement that Mycroft was married twice in ACD's canon is incorrect and the page you linked to is actually in connection with the Wold Newton Universe, which is a fiction concept based on the works of Philip Jose Farmer and not ACD.
Otherwise, please accept my kudos and gratitude for boosting Mycroft! :D
I wanted to include the warehouse cap you have in your icon in this post, but I could never figure out where it wouldn't look weird. So, just saying, HOT DAMN THAT SCENE. His umbrella gets me. Every. Time.
Well, that's embarrassing. It's been so long since I've read Doyle, I just looked at it and thought, "Oh, yeah, that sounds right" without paying the source too much attention. Very lazy of me. Thanks for pointing that out. I'm going to take it out, lol!
I love Mycroft so so much. The more I write him, the more I find to love about him. Plus, he's so under-appreciated. We're sitting on a gold mine here, people! Well, okay, not sitting, because I don't think Mycroft would want his suit mussed, but you know what I mean. Thank you for expounding on what makes him a super little black dress. Your description of Sherlock's dress type made me giggle mightily.

LOL! Naturally, Mycroft strives to be impeccable at all times, though I imagine he might be willing to make an exception if a particularly attractive doctor or police inspector were to sit on his lap. ;)
I'm glad you got a laugh out of it and that you enjoyed the LBD: Mycroft Edition. I honestly don't understand why more people don't ship him like craaaaaaazy with everyone, but then I've never really been an OTPer in any fandom I've ever been in. Apparently I'm just not made for it!

I am also an equal opportunity shipper! Why settle for just one, eh? And yes, okay, I know there's more John/Sherlock in fandom than everything else combined, but to my way of thinking that's all the more reason to explore other avenues. And really, I find him such an intriguing character that I can't help wanting to see what he gets up to when thrown into various situations. *rubs hands gleefully*
Can I just say I love you? This is absolutely brilliant!
And as for the speculation on Mycroft's sexuality--I have read somewhere that Mark Gatiss once mentioned about his suspicions about Mycroft being possibly gay, at a book signing of some sort, if I remember correctly, before Sherlock came out. So I think there is a great chance that you are absolutely right about him
( ... )
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. *fist pump* I've heard that Gatiss has already given the axe to the idea of Sherlock being gay, although no one was really sure for the first season, but since he didn't say anything about Mycroft... It's always nice to hear that it's not just my slash-goggles talking.
Ahhhhh, you make a very good point there. One of the reasons I'm so fond of Mycroft is the fact that, as you pointed out, he's much more capable of passing for "normal" than Sherlock is. But you're right that since he really isn't, he doesn't always do it perfectly. Obviously my interpretation of that scene leaned on the side of over-awareness (and possibly a bit of the same caricature that we see in the warehouse scene), but I see what you're getting at. Very interesting. I'm going to have to watch those parts again!

Mycroft/Lestrade is my otp in this fandom.
And which Holmes brother has the good sense to carry an umbrella with them everywhere in Britain? (yep I do too) Mycroft that's who.
