Gayke Mark II was a success. I used a better recipe, used the right flour and a little less food colouring, cos food colouring tastes like crap.

I haven't fallen over like that in a while. But a bad cut on the knee really stings and takes a while to heal. I'm glad though that it didn't ruin your evening.

Oh and I baked cookies yesterday! Go me! Well the dough was pre-made and I just had to put them on the tray and bake them. So perhaps I need less congratulations than I thought. But one must start somewhere right? :)

With my super healing powers I now only need one plaster on my leg, and I found some grown up fabric plasters so I look slightly less moronic! Slightly worried about it being infected due to the utter grossness of the puddle but I think it's ok.

Cookies are dead easy (and fun!) to make from scratch! (yeah, cutting up dough doesn't really count...) You should try shortbread - all you need is butter, flour and sugar and it's really really tasty! I made them the other week and everybody loved them! I'm thinking of making carrot cake for my flatmate coming home, and I have a bunch of other birthday's coming up so I might make a few more wee fairy cakes. Fun times!

Random question - where do Canadians stand on the whole cookie/biscuit thing?

I've made cookies from scratch before but they haven't really turned out great, I'm still a beginner.

Canadians are mostly on the side of saying 'cookie'. We are very alike our American neighbours and the vocabulary is just too similar. However, some times the word Biscuit is used more often, but only for certain types of biscuits. Like Tea Biscuits, you wouldn't say Tea cookies.
