Sorry it's taken me so long to respond (and I guess you may never see this).

You've given me some serious food for thought. While I believe that there are still some holes in your reasoning (Yuffie does swear in Advent Children; she casually calls Cloud a pain in the ass and isn't even angry), I've been consciously cutting back on the swearing and will probably continue to do so.

However, when you talk about bashing, I'm going to have to disagree. Not on the grounds that it's "bashing" or that it's unnecessary cruelty, but on the grounds that Yuffie is not always a nice person. In fact, canonically, she is very rarely nice. In canon, she was very cruel and selfish (consider the first thing she says to Vincent after he shares some of the horrible things that happened to him is, "Boring story number one!"). I may like Yuffie quite a lot, but I refuse to idealize her. She does have flaws, and cruelty is one of them. I am not going to omit that from the way I play her.
