A lot of people call me an "old school social worker" because I am a part of the "Functionalist" movement; I go to where the client is, and a person is considered a person first, rather than a diagnosis or a problem.

Hmm, okay. I like going to where the client is, but I'm definitely a fan of diagnoses--to me, they're a reminder that my psych issues aren't my fault, and they're tools to help me access relevant information about dealing with brains like mine.
