And I've had PayPal problems too: I was ripped off with a counterfeit item, and even after following all their "do this"es about getting documentation to prove it was fake, and doing it all within the unreasonable timelines they proposed and with no communication from them-- they were horrible to deal with-- I still didn't get their "buyer protection" or my money back.
Very fucking unimpressed, but I have no alternative in most cases, especially when buying from overseas. And... I always worry about somehow having the wrong address put through to the seller... and if they send stuff to the Mill Park address, there's Buckley's chance I'll get it since I haven't lived there for ages... but it still shows up on my PayPal account.
PayPal just called me. Supposedly, whenever you make a purchase, PayPal provides a shipping address. I was NEVER aware of that, and I'm not okay with it. The only way to make a payment without providing your address to the seller is to make it a personal payment rather than a purchase, and that doesn't have a process for disputing charges, so I doubt most sellers would be happy with that

i understand what you are saying about privacy, but im wondering if you have phone books like we have here in the states. our addresses are printed in them for anyone to look up. also, have you tried google'ing yourself to see if your address comes up?
while i completely understand that you didnt give your permission (knowingly, at least) to paypal for them to give your address out, its likely out there anyway...not saying its right, just saying its true. its one of the downfalls to living in today's society. nothing is secret.
We do, but I've been cell-only as long as I've had my own phone. I get that people's addresses aren't THAT hard to find, but I'd rather that random people on the internet not have SUPER-easy access to it. I did actually do quite a bit of googling of myself a few months ago because I was concerned about possible harassment from a U.S. member of a gaming organization I belong to if I were to report his inappropriate conduct
