Ah ha, does this make me weird then that I have always been able to separate entertainers from their roles? (Not just singing, but also acting, etc.)

This is why when people who are fans start babbling about actors by names, or the individual members of bands and all this supposed information on them or what not, that I end up going . . . "what?" or "who?" even if I know roles they have done, or like the band itself.

The people are not their performance. . . . uh, sadly, I'm usually not interested in getting to know the people. Well, I guess if I ever met them in person I would be, but that's not so likely to happen?

I'm the same way, or used to be. Most actors I only know by name because I'll say "oh hey X movie is good" to someone and they'll start talking about the actors in it and other movies they've been in and stuff. Some actors I like enough to research a little, but I don't really go out of my way. I do start to recognize actors after I've seen them in four or five movies, though ( ... )
