don't want to (think)
Touring is hard, and even though Brendon's been doing it for years at this point, he's not sure he'll ever really get used to the rhythm of it after a couple months away. There are constants, though, and Brendon is thankful for Spencer, because it makes it easier to settle when he knows Spencer will be there every step of the way to take care of him in whatever way he needs.
The ways Spencer takes care of Brendon have shifted over the years, changed like they have, but maybe the current iteration was always a forgone conclusion. Maybe it's what Ryan saw between them that made him leave, or maybe there were too many things rolled up into that to tell. Brendon doesn't know, and he doesn't like thinking about it either. That's how he's always dealt with painful past events, though: not thinking about it. His motto is live in the moment, and he's pretty sure that's maybe not the best way to deal with stuff, but it's working so far.
It's not like there's any real reason to dwell on why Ryan decided to break up the band when Spencer's pressing him into bathroom stalls at venues and jacking him off while whispering a myriad of filthy things into his ear. They've made up with Ryan anyway, a little bit. Brendon doesn't care about that when he's got Spencer pressed against him. He doesn't care about that when he's on his knees and sucking Spencer off. There are better things to focus on.
Like hotel nights. They have them more frequently now, often playing multiple nights in the same venue, and Brendon likes how they break up the monotony of touring. He sometimes remembers what city they're in, sometimes remembers what day it is, even though he knows that Spencer knows all that stuff for him. It's nice to know for himself, occasionally, although most nights Brendon doesn't want to know anything at all.
Those are the nights that Brendon lets Spencer press him down onto a bed in a city that has a name he doesn't care to know. Spencer chooses what they do-whether it's Spencer fucking Brendon until he's sore or Spencer pinning Brendon down and riding him until they're both too strung out to function-and Brendon just lets it happen. He doesn't need control, doesn't want control, and Spencer is more than happy to take it from him on those nights.
Sometimes Spencer tells Brendon what he's going to do in advance, whispers it into Brendon's ear to see him shiver with anticipation and want for the rest of the day, but most of the time he lets it be a surprise. Brendon's not sure if Spencer likes that more than he does, but either way it works out. It works out that Brendon doesn't know whether Spencer's going to fuck him or blow him or ride him and he can't help but picture them all.
His imagination is very vivid, when he lets it run wild.
One very rare occasions, Spencer will run his hands across Brendon's skin and catch his eye before asking: what do you want, Brendon? It's a question that used to frustrate Brendon, because the whole point was that he didn't want to think about anything, but now he understands the question for what it is. It's never a guarantee, more like something for Spencer to take under consideration, and Brendon likes that.
If he's being honest, though, Brendon likes everything that Spencer does.
