I'm currently watching The Tyra Show and there is a woman who is attracted to objects rather than people. Her first love was a bridge, but it collapsed and she never got over it. Today in linguistics I learned that "ghoti" can be pronounced "fish."
I also learned that Queen Victoria had nine children and (resultingly?)a 52 inch waist.
[I did not learn the last fact in linguistics though.]
