My parents and I just had a fifteen minute discussion on pies as a metaphore for churches - Almost completely in what if's. It was right after I had accused the entire Mormon church of being too pushy and making their kids feel like they were getting a grade in religion. It ended with

The Mormon church is really hypocritical to me, but I won't go there.

...You could always tell your parents you'll study religion on your own (better than what you get out of seminary) and take another class in place of seminary. Err...I guess.

The only problem with that is that they'd expect me to actually do it. And I'm really too anti-religion to study any religion, let alone Mormonism.
