Not Nice Words

So I go home for lunch yesterday, and as I leave to return to work, the building owner catches me and tells me that a car was stolen from the garage the other day. I actually remember the incident, as the thieves ditched a previously stolen car when they took the one from our garage, and they ditched the other one in my parking space. So anyway, he ( Read more... )

That's awful! I understand the feeling of violation, and, I imagine, extreme pissed-offness at your landlord. Definitely time for a new place.

Hopefully you have good insurance?

Uck. I hope your day gets better.

Yeah. And I hope Tony gets a car soon. Since the house came up, he started waffling over whether to get a nicer car than he originally planned since he will have to finance it anyway, or go the opposite route and get a total piece of junk really cheap. Now that MY car's gone, I think he's decided to go the 'nice car' route. Up till now, it's always been me with the nice car, and him with the not-so-nice car. But I just can't afford another car of the same quality. Even good insurance always will go by Kelly Blue Book, and you can almost NEVER find a car of comparable quality for the prices they pretend are realistic. KBB gives them explicit permission to rip me off and prevent me from actually replacing my car with one that is comparable ( ... )

Oh, and THANKS! I've been kind of moping all morning. My boyfriend called and left an extremely silly message on my work voicemail, and I'm gathering info and trying to get the various shops to send me copies of the receipts for the recent work I had done on the car, in case it makes a difference to my insurance. But I don't want to let it get in the way of 'life as normal' so I'm really looking forward to class tonight - an hour to not worry about cars or money, and only worry about whether or not my hips and feet and arms are doing what they should be. ;)

Wow! I'm so sorry. I had no idea!
Next to having your house broken into, having your car stolen is the worst thing that can happen to you without something physical happening.
I hope your insurance was full replacement value. Although that doesn't replace the sentimental value of things, replacement of your sword alone is going to be a hardship, moreso than just loosing your car.
