and if you liked slaughterhouse five, check out cat's cradle -- it's my favorite vonnegut book! a real quick read too.

I am so jealous that you are reading all these books. I have a hard time reading just one book and will start a bunch and not finish. And I always get distracted and end up reading books such as: "Better Single then Sorry" "He's Just Not That Into You" "It's Called a Breakup Because it's Broken" and "Why Men Love Bitches"
Wow..I'm not even joking..that's kinda sad..haha.

you just have to find a book that interests you. i used t start TONS of books that i'd always get distracted from. but you know me, i like this nerdy crap. i was reading today about someone, from the 80's maybe, who wrote a paper or presentation discussing christianity and native american spiritualism, and a ton of people got really upset about it. he was some ethnologist??? its on npr.org right, a mention of who it was. you might be into that, maybe..haha. you did study anthropology, right? read some stuff like that. like maybe there's a paper on americans and their self-help books....xoxox

ethnographer? Sweet! I love ethnographies! Ethnographies are pretty much an anthropologist's detailed accounts in writing of their experiences and analyzations of a population they are living amongst and studying. I wish I could read more of the American classics but I always find myself prefering ethnographies or books on social science. But I wish I could just sit and read "1984" and books like that.
