Abnormally attracted to pop culture

# Well, I promised (or threatened) my next entry would be about Kara Dioguardi. But I don’t seem to know exactly what to say about her just yet so I’ll postpone that, okay?

#I’m sorry but I’m not as excited about Susan Boyle as the rest of the world. She is just a strange looking creature with a good voice. So what? Celine Dion, anyone?

#Speaking of Celine and ugliness I found a video of last year Grammys of her singing “At seventeen” which happens to be one of my favorite songs. If you want to give it a chance, I assure you she is not singing as, well, passionately as she usually does. It’s actually a very poised performance by Celine.

#Moving from my guilty pleasures to the actual proud ones, some songs from the upcoming Tori Amos album Abnormally Attracted to Sin leaked in the form of visualettes. Apparently, they are some sort of music videos that make no sense. Also, there’s no lip sinking. It’s just Tori doing stuff. My favorite so far is Mabybe California, a heart felt dialogue between two mothers. It's on youtube but they don't let embed it. Silly ...

#I’ve been listening to a lot of Duffy lately. I evolved from being extremely annoyed by her, to being indifferent, to completely loving her record Rockferry. First, the melody got me. Then, I realized the lyrics are sort of a poetic version of my feelings in this past year or so. Quite impressive. I shall make a post about it. One day. Who knows?

#I recently realized I am Allison Cameron. From the way I dress and sometimes comb my hair; to my long history of unanswered crushes; to my apparent fragility that makes people guess about my competence; to my annoying attachment to a sense of ethics; to my confusion between leadership and cooperation; to my “must organize everybody else’s business at work”; to my platonic love for brilliance and real love for the guy next door.
I’m fine with it. I like Cameron. She has grown so much, she is so much more mature and confident since she distanced herself from House. Because, let’s face it, we are no Cuddy. We cannot deal with a House, both Cameron and I don’t have what it takes. We now know and recognize that. Good for us.
After all, House is capable of loving, he is just not capable of loving us.

Anyway, I’m off to buy some cigarettes for next Monday, if you know what I mean. ;-)
